Part 1

Part 1 – Feedback and Reflections

Overall comment – tackle each task with a little bit more depth with a greater level of exploration and visual evidence to be shown on your blog.

Agree.

I find that when approaching tasks I tend to simplify the end bit when emailing to tutors.  As I go along there isn’t enough visual evidence of the work that has been put into something.  Reading, researching, sketching and ideas are all done but in order to get the job done I skip jotting down thoughts on the process and demonstrating clearly how I got there so there isn’t a body of evidence of having done all that.  Moving on to Part 2 I hope to signpost my process and work enough.  Perhaps I think it is tooting your own horn a bit talking about how you got to a finished piece of work and sometimes I’m working through something and forget to signpost it.  When showing research evidence I do reference all images and sources and links, but the bits inbetween that are forgotten.  I’ll do my best to show the processes better.

Reflection on Feedback from Ben – Feedback Unit 1

  1. Artists statement – research them, find ones that resonate with me.
  2. Allowing intuitive hits – they need space and time.  They need to be respected and followed up on.
  3. All experiences are valued – so use the reflection log to review what happened.  What happened with the ezine, the Canbury Press and The guardian.
  4. Critical review feels more relatable – so create one on the women artists in history.
  5. My reflection log can contain vulnerable stuff or I can choose to hold off on that.
  6. ‘Non-conforming art’ resonates with me and ‘multi-disciplinary art’ resonates with me.
  7. What is my personal statement?

Work I make/what it’s about/why i make it – it can change and that’s okay!

  1. Reflection points – awareness – it isn’t curated and it can be unedited and I can express on OCA space.
  2. Dissertation or critical essay – I can start and change if I think I want to.  The dissertation is in 2 parts.

1st part – define your practice

2nd part – define other peoples practices.
